It allows users to upload and share their favorite content for free, and is debatably the best all-around multimedia site for business and personal use.

DailyMotion.com – Founded in early 2005, DailyMotion is one of the largest multimedia sharing web sites in the world. It allows its users to upload, search and play videos for free.

Vimeo.com – Owned by InterActiveCorp, Vimeo was founded by Zach Klein & Jakob Lodwick in late 2004. It is one of the top video sharing website, but currently does not allow commercials, gaming, pornography, or any other content that wasn’t created specifically by its members.

Metacafe.com – Founded in mid-2002 by Eyal Hertzog and Arik Czerniak, Metacafe is a video sharing website and search engine that specializes in short-form original entertainment. Rather than paying to upload your content, they have a rewards program that can actually pay you when you do it.

LiveLeak.com – Founded late in 2006, Liveleak is a media sharing website focused primarily on current event news such as politics and war. It is mostly free; however, advertising and commercial videos are not allowed unless users are given expressed permission or pay advertising fees to them. The site offers premium membership subscriptions for the serious uploader.

Break.com Formerly Big-Boys.com, Break was founded in 1998 and is currently owned by Break Media. It claims to be the #1 humor website allowing users to share their multimedia clips and pictures. Users can upload their content for free and even earn some decent money if their content gets featured on the site’s homepage.

eBaumsWorld.com – Founded in 2001 by Eric Bauman, eBaum’s World is currently owned by Viumbe, LLC. It is controversial website primarily focused on funny videos, pictures, jokes and games. When users upload their content they get eBones points which can be traded in for cash or prizes.

CollegHumor.com – Founded by a couple of high school classmates, CollegHumor is owned by CollegeHumor Media. It delivers daily comedic videos, pictures, articles and jokes. Some of the content is created by staff members, while other information is curated from around the Internet. Their target audience it 18-49 yr olds.

Blinkx.com – Started in late 2004 by Suranga Chandratillake and Sri Lankan, blinkx is a video and audio content search engine. Instead of allowing users to do standard uploads, blinks has partnerships with over 600 companies, allowing them to index their content through RSS feeds.

MegaVideo.com – Apparently started sharing videos in 2007, the site is owned by Megaupload of Hong Kong. It is a multimedia sharing subscription service that offers free membership levels as well as a premium memberships for users wanting to used its advanced features.
